DIY Holiday Wellness Gifts

The holidays are one of my favorite times of the year. I love all the lights, decorations, sweets, spending quality time with people who you are close to, and the season of giving.

Every year, I love brainstorming the perfect gifts for friends and family.

The holidays are also such a great time to get together and spend time with the ones you connect with the most.

So why not combine the two? My friends and I love to get together to make gifts. It’s so much fun to brainstorm different ideas of what we could craft.

We decided to make it a wellness night, creating gifts that make self-care a little easier for our friends and family. We planned a little party with a potluck style dinner and each provided ingredients for one of the wellness recipes of choice. The night was filled with laughter and came away with so many gifts to hand out to our loved ones.

I wanted to share with you the recipes we chose and my thoughts about each! I hope this inspires you this holiday season!

Peppermint Mocha Coffee Scrub

For the coffee scrub, we used this recipe and candy cane coffee to add to the holiday bliss. This scrub smells amazing and coffee scrub is great for exfoliating, improved circulation, and smoother skin. This is definitely one of my favorites- the little jars turned out so cute!

DIY Lip Balm

This lip balm we actually created last year for our wellness gift party and we loved it so much that we decided to re-create this year. We used this recipe as a base and then made different batches with different essential oils. We used Young Living Essential Oils to make three various types of lip balm.

Our first batch was Copaiba which has a uplifting, woody smell. Our second batch was lavender peppermint which is my favorite combination, soothing but energizing. And the third batch was cinnamon which is such a joyful lip balm for this time of year!

Healing Salve

My friend created her own recipe for the healing salve but here’s a recipe that has similar ingredients, we just added a lot more herbs to ours.

This healing salve is so great for cuts, dry skin, etc. It smells amazing and is so moisturizing. By the end of the night, we felt like we had all just gotten manicures with how soft the salve made our hands.

Relaxing Bath Salts

I went to Golden Poppy Herbal Apothecary to purchase the ingredients that I came up with for the bath salts. The staff there is so helpful! I didn’t really have a recipe to follow so they helped calculate how much of each I ingredient would need.

Per bath, I recommend about a 1/4 cup (2 oz) of bath salts plus your essential oils. I knew right away I wanted to include Epsom Salt since it helps with muscle soreness, eliminates toxins, and relaxes the body. But I wanted it to have so much more texture than just the Epsom Salt so I asked Golden Poppy about adding in Dead Sea Salt and Pink Himalayan Salt which they said the mineral properties of each would really add to the mix. Then I sprinkled in some safflower and rose petals for color and texture. The mix created this relaxing pink mix accented by the rose petals and the orange safflower.

The recipe per bath (2 oz.):

1 oz. Epsom Salt

.75 oz Dead Sea Salt

.25 oz Pink Himalayan Salt

A sprinkle of rose petals, safflower, or could even do lavender
